Releasing equity in Oxford: How the property market has changed over the years
Oxford is known for being home to one of the world’s best universities and is a world-leading centre for science and innovation. Popular with individuals and families, it is well connected to London and has lots of stunning green spaces to enjoy.
House prices have increased dramatically over the years. According to the property site Rightmove, in 2021 the majority of property sales were semi-detached homes that sold for an average of just over £574,000. Terraced houses sold for an average of £510,000, with flats fetching over £331,000. The average house price in Oxford stood at over £576,000. Overall prices had grown by six per cent from 2020 and 13 per cent on the 2019 peak.
The most expensive road in Oxford is Crick Road, where house prices have been valued at an average of £4.7million. Other expensive neighbourhoods include Jericho, North Oxford, and Park Town.
